 The fight between Edita and Marie-Laure (5ft 3in, 133 lbs), took place at the DWW event held over the weekend of 10-12th March 1995 in Vienna. It was to be the only encounter that Edita would have with the French judo ex-champion. Marie-Laure dominated the action from the start of the fight controlling Edita skilfully with a series of tight body holds and pinning manoeuvres. Edita fought back bravely and resisted submitting until she could take no more. She did well to hold the final score to 2 falls to nil to the French fighter after some 15 minutes of hard combat.

 From the start both boxers threw themselves into the fight energetically with a flurry of blows to both the head and body. It looked initially as if Edita was landing more punches, but then just 30 seconds into the fight the Czech fighter suddenly fell to the canvas gripping her abdomen and groaning in pain. The referee, affectionately known as "[[Jeff the Ref]]", immediately stopped the match and after a short time the medical team were called who escorted Edita to the ambulance for treatment. The referee determined that Edita had been struck by an unintentional "low blow" and declared the match a no-contest. However, several in the crowd disagreed with this decision and claimed that Nadege had punched Edita in the abdomen with a legitimate body blow. The referee refused to accept these claims from the crowd and so the match remained a no-contest for the remainder of the event.
