Cal Supreme (California Supreme) was one of the earliest players in the women combat business, and a huge influence on many of the other companies which were subsequently set up. Ron Dvorkin, the founder, was a pioneer in establishing one of the first US outlets specialized in women combat after observing what Germany was doing at the time. He was an ophthalmologist, had money to invest and decided to produce films to please his taste. With California Supreme (and Bellstone, its more raunchy satellite), a fighting style of semi-competitive bouts with topless and nude women was created that is still in place.

It was a female/mixed wrestling and boxing video production company, founded in 1959 in Tarzana California, which shot hundreds of reels in 8mm and VHS formats, plus photo sets, until 1998 when it closed down the production line. It kept selling merchandise until 2007 but the company's own website has since been taken down. However the L Scott network has a site that sells a range of CS products, which it occasionally adds to. Also, Ron himself stated in 2017 that "All the material is available at California Supreme, P.O. Box 573311, Tarzana, CA 91357"

Ron attracted dozens of women with athletic skills and basically mentored them in the trade. They include some of the iconic names in female wrestling : the splendid Lisa-Marie, the ill-tempered Swedish Tina, the businesswoman Robin, the voluptuous Shelly, the aggressive Raven, the large Kristie Etzold, and the muscular Christine Dupree. What a cast!

He often added commentary/coaching from behind the camera, not all of which was welcome or helpful, and sometimes tried to have a Q&A session mid-bout with boxers as they rested between rounds. Robin especially was less than impressed by this and treated Ron to a disdainful, icy glare as she blanked him. However he took the safety and well-being of the combatants seriously and could always be relied on to watch the fights closely to guarantee no one would be seriously injured. He also appeared in person in a couple of mixed boxing bouts.
