Melanie fought for DWW during the period from 1998 until about 2000. She was born in Ukraine although in DWW fights she was usually described as being from Hungary, which was where she was living at the time.
She was one of DWW’s most prolific and adaptable fighters who seemed equally happy wrestling topless or naked. Melanie was not afraid of taking on wrestlers who were larger and stronger than herself even if it meant a humiliating defeat. She was also a skilled oil wrestler and scored several notable victories against stronger opponents. Melanie only once tried her hand at boxing at the 1999 DWW summer games where she lost in a match against her arch rival Christie (see in notable matches below).

Melanie vs Christie at the DWW summer games 1999

Melanie had fought Christie on a number of occasions before the summer event in 1999 and Melanie had won most, if not all, of these matches. Their first fight at the games was a topless wrestling match which Melanie won convincingly 3-0 with a headscissors submission and two crossbody pins. This fight was later released by DWW as Fight of the Month (FOM) 486.

Following Melanie’s victory over Christie in their wrestling match the two fighters were invited to take part in a topless boxing match to be fought in the evening. This was a welcomed development as there had been no topless boxing matches so far during these games. Neither woman had boxed before, so it might be expected that the fight would be closely fought, but perhaps rather undisciplined. The fight was scheduled for five, two minute rounds and it was refereed by Jeff the Ref.
Both fighters threw themselves into the match with great energy and enthusiasm, what they lacked in experience they more than made up for in determination. It was clear from the start that Christie had a longer reach than Melanie and that this gave her a distinct. Soon Melanie was being hit regularly and by the end of round one she was already in some trouble. Round two went very badly for Melanie with her taking several hard head punches one of which sent her to haunches on the mat. At the end of the round Melanie returned to her corner looking despondent, while Christie went back to her corner looking relaxed and confident.

Christie continued to out box Melanie throughout rounds 3 and 4 with the young Ukrainian taking a number of blows to the head that had her staggering. In the break between the final rounds Melanie was slumped over the ropes looking rather shattered. But despite this she still came out for round five with gloves raised determined to go the distance. Christie didn’t let up at all in the final round and pummelled Melanie with a series of punches that made certain the final result of the fight. When the fight finally ended Melanie left the ring and it looked for a few seconds as if she was not going to return to allow the referee to declare the result. However, after a short period Melanie re-entered the ring to have the result declared. The crowd applauded both fighters for their energy and determination and Melanie for her endurance!
