Beatrice Goffin is widely considered as one of the pioneers of female submission wrestling. She was the first among submission wrestlers who travelled constantly doing private sessions and taking part in various events throughout Europe, as well as in United States.

Beatrice started wrestling in 1974 as a means to stay fit. She met an acquaintance every week in her apartment to train and explore her newly found love of freestyle and submission wrestling. In 1976 Beatrice and her husband, Michel Vieujean, formed Belgium's first female wrestling club - Les Lutteuses Rochefortoises (The Female Wrestlers of Rochefort). The club was officially recognized by the Belgium Wrestling Federation in 1978.

At first her father, being a father of 4 children - 3 boys, did not approve of her wrestling activities. But he changed his mind after Beatrice's professional achievements.

Beatrice's professional achievements in Olympic-style wrestling include:

  • two times Belgian freestyle wrestling champion
  • gold medal at European Women's Wrestling Championship in 1982 - 1st place (pinning Nicole Verhote in the final fight)
  • silver medal at World Festival of Women's Wrestling in 1986 (only 4 countries involved) - 2nd place (behind French Sylvie Maret)

During her lifetime she has wrestled for such companies as Festelle, Ealer Dayton, Ringside Productions and Athena2.

Besides wrestling she also worked as a laboratory assistant. **(clarification needed)

In late 1990s Beatrice switched to training and never appeared wrestling in public or for a production company since. Instead she focused on training her students. She has trained such great submission wrestlers as Nadege, Xana & Puma.
