The Women's Oil Wrestling Federation, usually referred to as W.O.W., was an exotic entertainment enterprise that started in 1986, initially calling itself The Luscious Ladies Of Oil. It was run by Roy Jerasi and was a travelling team of oil wrestlers who put on wrestling shows at nightclub-type venues, at first in the southern states but later nationally. As the company expanded its range it also introduced foxy boxing in accordance with customer demand. The wrestling itself was semi-pro style using their trademark giant inflatable red wrestling pool, and featured some impressively fast-moving and well-choreographed action from the roster of very athletic girls who started in bikinis but sometimes ended topless or even naked. Although the company began purely to serve a paying live audience it later became aware of the possibilities of video marketing, so that by 2004 it had become a successful video vendor with its own website. Unfortunately this all came to a complete halt in 2005 when New Orleans was devastated by hurricane Katrina, and the scale of the task of resurrecting the company proved too large.
