Marie Ann was one of the novice wrestlers appearing in the 1994 TPC Competitive Long Pins tournament, and was matched against Sonja who, in addition to her previous wrestling experience, was taller and heavier than her opponent. However Marie Ann had a feisty attitude and showed no hesitation in trying to take the fight to Sonja. She had some success at times but Sonja never looked in any real trouble, even when briefly trapped in a folding press. Marie Ann submitted twice to body scissors holds, then to a cross-body pin and then began to tire as Sonja demonstrated her greater strength. She was forced to submit to three face-sit pins in succession, the last being long and humiliating with Sonja showing a mean streak as she enjoyed her comprehensive victory.
