Leonie was trained by Beatrice Goffin in Belgium and for some time fought as a member of her team. In the UK she fought for Festelle on two occasions, the first time in a ring in September 1987 and the second time in an apartment about a year later.

Leonie vs Vanessa, Festelle FV53 Belgium v England Pt I
In 1988 Beatrice Goffin and her husband Michel led a team of women wrestlers from Belgium to fight a British team from the WCS club (Women’s Combat Sport). The event was held in an apartment room with the floor covered with thick wrestling mat. The videos of the matches from this event were released via the Festelle label on tapes FV53 and FV54.
The first fight of the event was held between Leonie from Rochefort in Belgium and Vanessa from Manchester, England (5’5”, 100lbs). The fight was introduced by Phil Barrett and refereed by Michel Goffin with Beatrice watching from the doorway of an adjacent room.
The match starts with the two fighters locking hands in a test of strength from which they move quickly to a double headlock. The fight moved around room with Leonie repeatedly trying unsuccessfully to take Vanessa to the mat. Eventually Leonie managed to get Vanessa down, but English fighter fought back by locking her legs round Leonie in a defensive bodyscissors. Leonie broke Vanessa’s scissors my getting to her feet and as Vanessa dropped to the mat Leonie covered her and skilfully manoeuvred the Belgian into a reverse bodyscissors. Leonie’s thighs bulged as she tightened her scissor hold quickly bringing a submission from Vanessa. The referee then paused the fight to award the first point to Leonie.
