While Mildred was a pro, & not strictly a submission wrestler as we concider the term today, she was the inspiration for, & helped open the doors for many of the women who have gone on to found the sport. She was a true trail blazer for womens wrestling, submission or otherwise, & without her pioneering work, the field would not be what it is today. I guess you could call Mildred the "grandmother" of modern female wrestling, submission, freestyle or otherwise.
