Tigra AKA Leia Kawaii was the first-ever African American woman to win a medal at the World Championships for Team USA Women's Wrestling, earning silver in 1989 at 70 kg.

Later she competed in bodybuilding events, and also participated in both F/F and mixed wrestling matches for Joan Wise Productions and Premier Productions.

She has a daughter - Honii - who has also become a female wrestler.
