I see you just corrected an error I made in typing Alecia's height - thanks for that! I have just been looking at the start of the fights I have with Alecia and I think that the 168cm that Kontex have for her is wrong. At the start of her fight with Tina it is quite clear that she is shorter than Tina, I think by about 3in, and since we know Tina's height is 5ft 3in that would make her more like 5ft. Here's a pic from the start of their fight. What do you think?
I've found that Kontex are not especially accurate with these statistics, probably because they cover such a huge number of wrestlers and are bound to make a few mistakes. I took a look in the Joan Wise Classics site and found the following - " A torrid match up between hot, 5'9 1/2" 145 pound Jackie and the smaller but incredibly sexy Alecia at 5', 100 pounds" which shows your estimate is spot on, and that the weight given is wildly wrong as well! I've amended the entry accordingly.
Well done for finding those details - that makes a lot more sense. I am present getting screen grabs of the fight between Alecia and Rachel who I think may be about 7-8" taller, what do you think? Alecia-Rachel00.jpg
In my updating of Kati's record I discovered that the fighter you have labelled as Krisztina J is now known as Kristina Y on DWW's site. Not sure whether you want to do anything about that or just leave things as they are?
I think DWW themselves get confused between the Krisztinas and the Kristinas! Krisztina J is how she is named on the actual video so I think it's best to leave the original entrant and edit to put in the alternative name details - leave that to me. On a similar note, I've discovered that the Hajnal 97 you've recently tagged is the same girl known as Hajnal Y when she did a HPC match against Melanie at around the same time. So I was planning to set up a new entrant for Hajnal Y and amend your Annamaria details accordingly - are you OK with that?
I can only offer the quote from Rockin-Roxanne - "Tiffany was the wife of the owner (Marty) and passed away some time ago." This was posted March 26th 2019 so gives a rough timeframe I guess. Incidentally I see you have noticed the California Wildcats site is defunct which means R-R is now the only vendor of VSL videos.
I saw that it had gone completely. At least there are a few of the videos still on R-R and some may be available on clips4sale. Thanks for the information.
Apologies for removing your pic on the GMC Rita entrant - unintentional mis-typing!
No problem, I've done the same myself when updating a page. I've bought a couple of GMC fights recently and also rediscovered a few more that I bought many years ago, so I am having a bit of a session on their fighters at present.
Hi Merlin, just looking at the new Annamaria pics you've posted - very interesting as I hadn't seen anything from those matches before. One question though - do you think that the girl you've named Judit 97, and the girl who wrestled once in 1994 who I named Judit B, are one and the same? They look very alike facially, both are blonde, and although Judit 97's hair is longer this would depend on when the DWW-103 match took place. It also appears to me that she might have had some breast enhancement, changing her figure somewhat. What say you?!!
Why did you blank Anita's page?
Good evening to you as well! If you're referring to Anita (Fighting Dolls)then it's because this is a duplicate entry - Anita (Fighting Dolls) is the same girl who is known as Anita P.
Good evening
Ok thank you.
Hi JQ
How can you upload pictures without violating copyrights?
Difficult question - my view is that if I own a particular video then I have the right to publish pictures from it, and in the case of web site pictures, these are already in the public domain. I take the line that WrestleWiki is encouraging sales for video production companies by exposing them and their products to an audience who may not already be aware of them. The only exception to this is where I've obtained a photo from another collector in which case I've normally contacted them first, and have then inserted an acknowledgment on the relevant page - see for example LGIS (Old) [[1]].
So that means I can use pictures on websites that are in galleries beside the video but no screenshots from the video itself?
Sorry - I could have expressed that more clearly! What I am saying is that, assuming you own the video in the first place, as far as I'm concerned there is no reason not to acquire and post screenshots. If you are giving identification of the pictures via the relevant WrestleWiki page (and captions if needed) then as I said before you're actually assisting the production company by publicising their work. Website gallery pictures are in the public domain already, but again using them in WrestleWiki is legitimate as you're not seeking to gain anything at the expense of the creators from doing so.
Hi JQ
How many registered users (humans no bots) are in this encyclopedia?
[[1]] is the page which details all the users who have ever registered with those contributing highlighted in blue.
I was registered earlier in 7/21 with the nam Catfightfan in this wiki. How can I get a bureaucrat, an administrator, user surface admin or staff member?
We now have 800 wrestlers on this site! Pretty much all you and me putting more wrestlers to the roster! That's awesome, we've about doubled the amount of wrestlers on this site in less than 4 months.
Yes - it's a very good result. The project is clearly a never-ending one but the more details and information the site contains, the more interest it should attract, hopefully including some more active contributors. Did you manage to get a message to Zweig about updating the Homepage info?
Yeah, he doesn't seem to be too interested in this site anymore. I think maybe he should just hand it off to you or I, or someone more active here.
Yes - we're gradually closing in on a 4-figure total. I'm working through some additions to Festelle, TPC and DWW, which are the companies which interest me most. I've also noticed a couple of recent contributions from Merlin and Bullflower who are pretty much founder members, so that's good to see as well.
Hi, I notice you've been filling in a lot of Joan Wise wrestlers - good work! Just one issue - you've set up an entry for Candi but there was already an entrant for her under her real name - Kelli Thomas. In fairness there was an omission on this entrant for the JW company indicator so I've corrected that and also added in your new mixed wrestling items. I think your weight/height details for Candi are wrong, although I can see that is what is says on JOANWISECATFIGHTS.COM - the reason I think otherwise is that when you see Candi and Tina in action, no way is Candi 6" taller or around 15 pounds heavier so I think the site itself is showing duff info. If you are OK with this maybe you could blank the Candi entrant and maybe we can get Zweig to tidy it (and some others) up sometime. Regards, JQ
Now we‘ve doubled the 800 in less than 3 years
Hi JQ
Thank you for extending the pages I created with pictures.
No problem - glad to have your input. Just one issue with the changes you've been making - you need to enclose match links to web pages within [] brackets thus reducing their size, otherwise the long link name tends to screw up the layout of the vertical columns. But as I said, always good to have another contributor on board.
How many contributors are there in total?
Maybe about 10 who are actually active at this point in time - perhaps 25 who have contributed in the past but no longer appear to be involved. Many other users register themselves but never go on to physically contribute at all.
This page within the database gives you names for the last 30 days :- [[1]]
Hi JQ I have just started getting error messages on trying to upload pictures to the site. Are you getting this problem as well? Merlin
Hi JQ, I just got hold of an old Amazon in Action magazine from Spring 1999 which has a review for a couple of Tina fights APL66 & APL67 which must have been released in early 1999. This suggests that the dates that we have for the APL fights on Tina's page (APL 80s and 90s) should probably dated more like 2000. I will update the page with that date and add the fights that are reviewed in the magazine. Hope that's okay with you. Merlin
Hi Merlin, absolutely fine by me! In fact I think 1999 is true for the APL083/086/096 matches as well - they don't have a date clearly showing when the matches were staged, but they do show Tina as being aged 30 which would correspond with her 1968 DOB. I had entered a provisional date of 2000/2001 but this seems wrong now I look more closely. Do you want to amend these dates as well? Good to see you involved again with the project incidentally!
Hi JQ, It has been quite a while since I have done anything on the site, but I have been jogged into action after buying that "new" edition of the Amazons in Action magazine. I have updated the Tina page to show the 83-86 series as 2000? and the 96-103 as 2001? I think APL would have probably have set Tina's age as 30 from the APL66 & 67 fights when she would have been 30. Those fights might well have been some of the last topless fights that Tina had. It is a pity that they aren't still available!
Hi Merlin, those APL matches were available via Rockin-Roxanne at one time though not through their "regular" catalogue - I was able to negotiate a price with her. Given they were produced around the year 2000 I must admit they are of fairly moderate quality although the actual wrestling is excellent and I think, as per the APL FAQ section, that they were removed from their site for quality reasons.
Going back to your AiA magazine, would you be able to add scans of the relevant pages to the Tina entry alongside the Festelle / CW / VS ones you have already done? This kind of info is very hard to find and would be ideal source material!
Regards, JQ
Hi JQ I'll do that tomorrow and I take a look for the other Tina articles that you might be interested in. Have you seen the AiA extract I put up on the APL page about the launch of organisation? Merlin
