Alexandra began wrestling at age 22 in early 1989 for the German Mat Club, which later became Beka. Alexandra had a background playing soccer, and in her first match earned a 2-2 draw against a fellow novice, Gerlinde (GM 2079-4). The young ladies wrestled topless and wore relatively conservative European style shorts and wrestling shoes. The action was spirited, if not skillful, and Alexandra showed a strong competitive spirit as she avoided giving up a point to Gerlinde in the closing moments of the match.

Her second match was against the indominable Petsi, ten years her senior, and Alexandra came away with a 1-1 draw (GM 2077-3). Petsi appeared to be exhausted from prior matches that day, as she would have been expected to easily handle the less experienced and skilled wrestler. Alexandra dispensed with the gym shorts and wore an attractive low-slung bikini bottom with side ties and wrestling boots, and she would wear this outfit for three matches during this session. Alexandra then lost to Tatjana, 1-0, and Jeff the Ref asked the audience to acknowledge Alexandra’s “energetic performance” (GM 2078-4). Later in that session, Alexandra lost 2-0 to Karin, who would later become earn a small measure of renown as the champion of an 8-woman all nude wrestling tournament (GM 2080-2). It is notable that Alexandra was matched against two of GMC's top ladies in only her second outing as a competitive wrestler.
