Gerti Langner was a member of the original incarnation of the Liberal Girls International SportClub - otherwise known as LGIS (Old) - a female boxing and wrestling organisation founded in Munich, Germany in 1976. Joining in the autumn of 1978 she remained a regular competitor right through until the final event staged by LGIS.
When she made her LGIS debut she was well beaten by more experienced opponents such as Anneliese and Karin but she quickly improved to the extent that she was able to KO Karin in their bout during the last LGIS tournament.
Unlike nearly all the other group members she did not retire completely from the female fighting scene with the demise of the LGIS organisation, making a surprise comeback some 10 years later to win a match at GMC, later distributed by AS Film.
