Marie-Laure vs. Lena
TPC-95-9, Topless International club wrestling
The fight between the French champion wrestler Marie-Laure and Lena took place in Norfolk, England in July 1995. The fight was refereed by wrestler and muscle woman Christine Marshall who had her work cut-out controlling the aggressive French fighter. We are not told whether there was any pre-existing bad blood between Marie-Laure and Lena, but certainly when they got into the ring the French woman attacked the Londoner as if she was her mortal enemy. This is an account of the fight which was published in the November 1995 edition of Amazons in Action magazine number 72:
Two of the toughest women on the amateur circuit now meet to settle their differences in the ring. Both are topless, both are well built, both clearly mean business from the first bell.
The rules are introduced as being “Semi-Professional Style”. Marie-Laure clearly relishes the opportunity to play the traditional pro-style villain, and takes every opportunity to aggravate her opponent, slapping and kicking her between falls and refusing to shake hands.
Although Lena is aggressive, Marie-Laure's hugely formidable technique allows her to take charge throughout, and she even manages to relieve Lena of the upper part of her bathing costume early in the match (the Frenchwoman is topless throughout). This clearly infuriates Lena.
Marie-Laure next shows her ability to apply more orthodox holds with a
full-nelson/body-scissors combination from which Lena struggles vigorously to
escape.
When Lena threatens to take charge, her agile foe escapes with ease, springing out of trouble with a spectacular handstand.
Lena is further provoked by a foot pushed insultingly into her face following a
head-scissors submission. Her discomfiture is soon compounded by a cradle-hold that completely wraps her up: at this point, she is provoked to audibly complain about not enjoying this match at all.
Marie-Laure finishes her off with a body-press from behind, Lena flat out upon the mat, legs kicking vainly as her arms are extended fully by the powerful Frenchwoman.
Overall, it is a devastating show of power and technique by one of the mistresses of the modern ring.
