Luzia was a wrestler for DWW, who retired from wrestling a few years ago. She was something of a pioneer, due to her wrestling career coinciding with the early days of the World Wide Web. Luzia was hugely popular, due to the combination of her considerable wrestling ability and her beauty. She won the majority of her matches against both women and men, and often was able to overcome much larger male opponents through a combination of skill, athleticism, tenacity, endurance, flexibility and willpower. She defeated some men several times, including Honza (who was around 50lb heavier than her) and Tom, while she also had a 3-1 record against highly-competitive Martin, a young rugby player.

Luzia started wrestling for DWW before her 18th birthday. As a result, her earliest mixed matches were under the DWW EU series, and were strictly sporting contests. The most notable of these was a victory for 17-year-old Luzia over 23-year-old Tom. After a tight battle for most of the contest, she pulled away to take a convincing 5-1 victory, including a highly inventive final pin.

After her 19th birthday, Luzia started in engage in topless mixed contests, including a rematch with Tom. Included in DWW-172, it is one of her most engaging matches, and this time she defeated Tom by a scoreline of 6-1.

Luzia’s most common opponent in competitive matches was Honza. For the majority of their clashes, Luzia was listed as 133 pounds, with Honza 49 pounds heavier at 182 points. Despite this weight disadvantage and despite Honza being in shape, she comfortably defeated him on all five times that they met. The standout match between them was in EU-96 Barbeque Boys, in which Luzia took a resounding 6-0 victory over her larger but outclassed opponent. Again, this was a strictly sporting contest, and even nearly 20 years later, this remains one of the best examples of an athletic woman with superior skills humbling a bigger male opponent. The Spice Girls simply sang about Girl Power – Luzia was living proof of it.

A clip from another match against Honza, from DWW-247, went viral and picked up an astonishing number of views. So much for mixed wrestling being a narrow niche!

Luzia’s biggest rival amongst the guys was probably Martin, an athletic rugby player. They met each other in four highly competitive encounters. Martin had no qualms about wrestling all out against women, and had an overall winning victory in mixed matches for DWW. Luzia, however, proved his nemesis. He only beat her once, and that came after she had been involved in two other tough matches immediately beforehand. Luzia won the other three matches, all of which were not decided right until the conclusion of the match.

Another match worthy of mention was against Petr in DWW-158. In a lengthy contest, Luzia dons a crop top and jean shorts. Petr is definitely giving his all and takes 4 submissions and pins. Unfortunately, for him, Luzia tots up 9, including seven on the trot at one point. Again, she defeats and humbles a male in a sporting contest.

As she moved into her twenties, Luzia was also involved in domination-type matches. However, she was still involved in competitive matches as well. In DWW-400, she beats outclassed Nick twice, in a domination fight and in a rather one-sided but still entertaining competitive clash. As the same size as Luzia, Nick had no chance against an athletic woman capable of beating much bigger opponents.

Luzia retied early. Her last mixed matches were in 2005, and she completely retired in 2006. But she is still well-remembered, as the first Wrestling Queen of the Internet age. In my opinion, she is so well remembered because she was the real deal. There was nothing fake about Luzia. She could and indeed did outfight and outthink in-shape and muscular men in physical contests.
