Nadege was a Belgian wrestler of Indian-Creole decent. She was born on Reunion Island, but lived in Belgium since her childhood and had Belgian citizenship. Nadege began her wrestling career near Rochefort, Belgium under the tutelage of the great Beatrice Goffin. A naturally gifted athlete, Nadege developed into one of Europe's finest women wrestlers. In addition to her formative training under Beatrice, Nadege also trained in Brazilian Ju Jitsu and "catch as catch can" styles of grappling. In 2008 Nadege competed and medalled in a NAGA tournament in NY.

In addition to wrestling Nadege also competed frequently in catfight contests, both competitive and story line. She fought and performed in hundreds of matches for major production companies such as DWW, APL, AS FILM, and Amazon Productions. She was the co-owner of her own production company called American Belgian Women Fighting.

In her 17 year career Nadege suffered several injuries which necessitated some brief time away from fighting. She suffered a torn ACL in 2014 while fighting the much larger Anna Konda of Germany. Nadege underwent knee surgery in the summer of 2014 to repair the damage and after recovering she participated in matches in 2015 with Xana (Belgium), Daniel (Netherlands), and Celia (Belgium).

Nadege passed away January 30th, 2018 after a 5 month battle with cancer.

Notable matches

Nadege vs. Edita boxing match in Hungary August 2001

This fight took place in the second evening of the DWW 2001 summer event held near Budapest in Hungary. Nadege and Edita had already met on the wrestling mat in the afternoon where Nadege had won by 2 submissions to 0 in a long and hard fought match. As this would be Nadege's first boxing match it was widely anticipated that Edita would get revenge.

From the start both boxers threw themselves into the fight energetically with a flurry of blows to both the head and body. It looked initially as if Edita was landing more punches, but then just 30 seconds into the fight the Czech fighter suddenly fell to the canvas gripping her abdomen and groaning in pain. The referee, affectionately known as "Jeff the Ref", immediately stopped the match and after a short time the medical team were called who escorted Edita to the ambulance for treatment. The referee determined that Edita had been struck by an unintentional "low blow" and declared the match a no-contest. However, several in the crowd disagreed with this decision and claimed that Nadege had punched Edita in the abdomen with a legitimate body blow. The referee refused to accept these claims from the crowd and so the match remained a no-contest for the remainder of the event.

We now have the video and we can replay it in slow motion and see that indeed the members of the crowd who disagreed with the referee were correct. Just 30 seconds into the fight Nadege dodged a left head punch from Edita and as she did so she threw a left punch of her own into the right side of Edita's abdomen. As can be seen in the picture below, the referee is directly behind Edita, so he never saw the punch! It took several seconds for Edita to react to the blow and fall to the canvas in pain. The whole incident was over so quickly that it took most of the crowd by surprise, but a few members of the audience with a clear view did see Nadege's amazing blow that felled her bigger opponent so abruptly. So in fact Nadege won her very first boxing match by a KO in just 30 seconds, which must be something of a record!

Edita was discharged by the medical team after some 30 minutes and suffered no lasting harm from the blow.
